The training started with a brief opening ceremony. The Executive Director of AFRIGIST, Dr. A.O. Akingbade, represented by the Deputy Executive Director of AFRIGIST gave the opening remark. He emphasized the importance of the training while urging participants to be active so as to attain useful knowledge. The Chief of Party (COP) SERVIR WA, Mr. Marc Dawson appreciated the turnout for the training. He noted that the training was important to the future of SERVIR WA, citing that the next phase of SERVIR WA activities will see an upscaling of activities from local communities to national and regional levels where similar services are required. Machine Learning may prove to be a useful tool in achieving this more rapidly with less resources.
